1931 Ford Model A Roadster Original Steel Fabric Top.

This 1931 Ford Model A is a factory steel-bodied roadster. The car runs a recently tuned 350ci Chevrolet V8 bolted to a 3-speed automatic transmission, while other equipment includes a Ford 9 rear end, Mustang II front suspension, rack and pinion steering, front disc brakes, fiberglass fenders, and amenities such as bucket seats, carpeting, and a removable fabric top.

Exterior construction is made up of a 1931 original steel body and 32 grille shell, while the full front and rear fenders are fiberglass items. Red paintwork is older and shows various chips and imperfections. Color-matched engine covers are also included.

American Racing Torq Thrust wheels are staggered width front to rear and wear Michelin radials. The windshield pillars are fitted with small wind deflectors and a removable black fabric Bop Top by Sid Chavers is included and shown mounted in the gallery below.

The grey interior is equipped with bucket seats and lap belts, matching door and side panels, and a full carpet kit. The 4-spoke steering wheel is mounted on a tilting column for ease of entry. An array of aftermarket gauges is joined by a modern stereo installed just above the floor shifter for the 3-speed automatic transmission.

Power comes from a 350ci Chevrolet V8 crate engine set up with a 4-barrel carburetor and 4-into-1 headers feeding a dual exhaust system. Approximately 2500 miles have been driven since this engine was installed.

The color-matched frame is a modified original-style unit. Updated running gear includes a Mustang II independent double wishbone front end with rack and pinion steering and front disc brakes. The Ford 9 rear axle employs drum brakes and incorporates adjustable coilovers.
